XXV bėgimas Laisvės gynėjų dienai paminėti

The XXV Run Commemorating Freedom Defenders’ Day in Klaipėda is a traditional running event held to honour those who died and fought for Lithuania’s freedom. The event brings together the city’s community and visitors and takes place in Klaipėda on January 18. Participants can choose between two distances: the main 8 km course and a shorter 3 km course for schoolchildren, seniors and anyone who finds the longer course too challenging. The event starts in the evening, and the routes pass through scenic parts of the city, including a cycle path and the Summer Amphitheatre.

Race bibs have an external timing chip. Picking up race bibs in advance is recommended to avoid queues on event day. Bib pickup for 8 km runners is on a bus near the Rotušė, and for 3 km runners it is near the Summer Amphitheatre. Buses depart for the start locations at 19:00. Individual warm-up: 19:45–19:55. The course closes at 21:20. Medals are awarded to the first 900 finishers. The event is organised with buses and community participation; the start is at the Klaipėda Giruliai Radio and TV Tower.
