Tradicinis bėgimas „Laisvės taku 2026“

The traditional run "Freedom Trail 2026" will take place on May 22, 2026, in the town of Šimkaičiai, Jurbarkas district, to commemorate the 117th anniversary of General Jonas Žemaitis's birth. It is an 11 km cross-country race starting from the General Jonas Žemaitis headquarters. The event promotes physical activity, a healthy lifestyle, and honors the memory of Lithuania's freedom fighter. Participants are invited to register in advance and take part in a community sports event.

Participant registration is from 9:00 to 9:30 AM. Number pickup is on May 23, 2025, from 9:00 to 9:30 AM. Registration location - Šimkaičiai Jonas Žemaitis primary school. Departure by bus to the start at 09:45 from the school. Awards are scheduled for 13:00. Participants must have a doctor’s note or have undergone a health check. Results will be publicly announced. Photos and video footage will be taken during the event for marketing purposes. The event will be held at Šimkaičiai Jonas Žemaitis primary school, with age categories for participants and online registration options.
