Bėgimo varžybos „Už vaikų rytojų“

The “For Children’s Tomorrow” running race is an event aimed at encouraging the public to become foster parents to older children and changing negative attitudes toward children in foster care. The race takes place in Kaunas Oak Grove, with the start and finish near the main building of the Lithuanian Sports University. The event draws attention to children over the age of 10 who are waiting for foster families and promotes the services provided by the foster care centre. Participants can choose from several distances, and every finisher receives a commemorative medal.

There are three distances: 500 m (for those born in 2014 or later; start at 18:30), 1 km (start at 18:45), and 5 km (start at 19:05). Participants must wear their bib on the front of their shirt. Winners and runners-up are awarded in various age groups, and every finisher receives a commemorative medal. Participants and supporters are not allowed to use vehicles or personal escorts during the race. Registration is online. The event is intended for children and young people and aims to encourage an active lifestyle and social engagement.
